Dayton Area Mensa Web Site Information and Web Policy

To be useful, this web site must fulfill two primary duties:

  1. To serve as an outreach tool to inform potential members about Mensa, how to qualify, the local chapter and
  2. To be an information resource for members.

Obviously, those functions must be balanced against our membership's reasonable expectations of privacy.

Personal information, such as addresses or phone numbers, will not be included on the Dayton Area Mensa web site. If such information is included in the body of a column or article submitted for publication, it will be removed from any version posted on the DAM web site.

If local members would like mailing address, phone number and/or other personal information available through the Dayton Area Mensa web site, he or she may post such information on his or her own personal or business website and request that a link to that site be added to the Dayton Area Mensa web site Links page.

E-mail aliases shall be used for all e-mail sent from the Dayton Area Mensa web site. These aliases will have the general form: function@dam.us.mensa.org.

Any online version of the activities schedule will not contain contact phone numbers, addresses or directions to any event held in a member's home. Please check the latest issue of the MPULSE for details about activities, or e-mail the LocSec or the Webmaster. Ask that they either respond or forward the request to the event organizer.

Any event host may request that his or her event be omitted from the online schedule.

Any column, article, feature, cartoon, etc. submitted for publication in the MPULSE may also appear on the Dayton Area Mensa web site unless the author specifically requests otherwise. Content created for MPULSE before the development of the web site is not included in this blanket statement; permission must be sought from individual authors before reproducing the material.

Authors are credited for submissions to MPULSE, Mensa members in photographs may be identified, people may be mentioned in descriptions or other reports of recent events, and officers and event hosts may be listed. In special circumstances, sometimes even this can be objectionable to some people. If anyone has such concerns, his or her name can be omitted. Please contact the Webmaster if this is the case.

Photographs of Mensa members will be posted on the web site only after their permission has been obtained.

For more information on these policies, please e-mail the Webmaster.
