Dayton Area Mensa is a chapter of American Mensa, governed by a set of Bylaws and guided by a Steering Committee that meets monthly.
Our membership comes from west central Ohio around the Dayton area and serves an area that include 8 counties. Our membership is as diverse in interests as it is in education and age.
No matter what your age or interest, you will find members with which you share much in common, so you are welcome to attend our activities and get to know us better.

HistoryThere is a short history of Dayton on the Dayton Area History Page, including its founding in 1796, historic growth factors, and famous inventors and business leaders.
Education and CultureDayton boasts a number of colleges and universities, museums, and a host of cultural venues and opportunities.
Leisure ActivitiesThe Dayton has a number of parks and more than 75 miles of bike trails. A number of major sporting and entertainment venues are a short drive from the city.

Leisure ActivitiesDayton's Carillon Park (shown here), nearby Kings Island Amusement Park, and many other parks and recreation areas make Dayton a great place for outdoor activities for every member of the family.
CultureIn addition to events hosted by the area's colleges and universities, area cultural opportunities include the Dayton Art Institute, Dayton Symphony, a ballet company, and live theater.
Dayton was the site of the 1995 Dayton Peace Accord, which ended hostilities in Bosnia-Herzegovia and the former Yugoslavia.

Regtional Gathering The RG is our big annual event, which draws Mensans from around and beyond the Dayton area. The Member Appreciation Picnic Held in an area park, the picnic is always a great time for members and their families.
